New seam rolling facility in operation at ThyssenKrupp Umformtechnik

Ideal for small series

Since June 2003 the Ludwigsfelde plant of ThyssenKrupp Umformtechnik GmbH has been successfully operating a new seam rolling facility for doors, front and tail gates. With two fully programmable robots, a quick change system for the seaming bed and hold-down devices and three tool stations per robot, the Nothelfer-built machine is highly flexible with low space requirements.

The new seam rolling facility is highly flexible

Ideally suited to small series such as customer service parts and niche vehicles, it offers customers the advantage of reduced modification/pre-production costs in the event of production shifts as well as low manufacturing costs. When the machine was commissioned, production of the front and tail gates of the VW Passat was transferred from Emden to Ludwigsfelde.
